Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dark Labyrinth handles information when you play the game, create an account, use the leaderboard, or contact us. Dark Labyrinth is a browser-based stealth horror maze game. We aim to collect only the information needed to run the game, save progress, protect accounts, and improve the player experience.
Information we collect
- Account information: If you register, we collect your chosen username and a hashed version of your 4-digit PIN. We do not store your raw PIN.
- Game progress: We may store your highest campaign level, resume checkpoint, gadget counts, endless mode best distance, and leaderboard-related data.
- Session information: If you sign in, a session token may be stored in your browser so you can remain logged in.
- Local preferences: The game may store settings such as volume, mute state, tutorial-seen status, and similar preferences in localStorage on your device.
- Technical information: Hosting providers and analytics/ad services, if enabled, may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and request logs.
How we use information
We use information to provide gameplay features, authenticate accounts, save progress, display leaderboard scores, support account deletion, troubleshoot bugs, prevent abuse, and respond to player requests. We do not sell personal information.
Guest play
You can play as a guest without creating an account. Guest progress is not saved to an account. Some temporary data may still exist locally in your browser during the session or as basic preferences.
Leaderboard
If you create an account, your username and scores may appear on public leaderboards. Do not choose a username that includes your real name, email address, phone number, or other sensitive personal information.
Cookies, localStorage, and ads
Dark Labyrinth uses browser storage for essential game functions and preferences. If advertising is enabled in the future, third-party advertising providers such as Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize ads where permitted. For visitors in regions that require consent, an appropriate consent message or Consent Management Platform may be shown before ads are served.
Children's privacy
Players must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the signed-in features. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can review and delete it.
Account deletion
Signed-in players can delete their account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. A PIN confirmation is required. Deleting an account removes the account record, saved progress, and leaderboard entry associated with that username.
Data security
We use reasonable safeguards, including hashed PIN storage and session tokens, to protect accounts. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so players should choose a username that does not reveal private information and should keep their PIN private.
